A “real” cottage with roses around the door, ideal for a couple or family of three. Well equipped but retaining all the character of a cottage dating back to 1736. To the rear is an enclosed private cottage garden with furniture. The front faces south with views of the village green and the Cheviot Hills. Paxton is a small quiet village 5 miles from Berwick where everyday shopping can be done. The cosy pub next door serves excellent food and there are many other places to eat locally including the cafe at nearby Paxton House with its house and grounds to explore. The Northumberland Heritage Coast is within easy reach with its spectacular scenery, castles and sandy beaches. Rose Cottage lies in the Borders of Scotland which are literally at your feet. The historic city of Edinburgh is only 60 miles by road or easily accessed on the train from Berwick. The Coast and Castles cycle route passes nearby and the cottage has a lockable side gate for secure cycle storage.

Downstairs Rooms include: Living room with comfortable seating including a recliner armchair, open fire, flatscreen TV with freeview and DVD player plus a portable CD/radio set. Separate Dining Room with additional seating.  Bathroom with over bath electric shower, WC and hand basin.  Kitchen and Utility area with electric cooker, microwave, toaster, fridge-freezer, auto washer and a range of storage.  The entrance lobby provides a suitable area for boots and walking gear.

Upstairs is a single large and airy family bedroom which is reached by a narrow but not steep staircase.  Within is a standard single bed and a euro double sized bed (slightly wider and six inches longer than UK size).

Full oil fired central heating and electricity included in rent plus starter pack for open fire.

All towels and bed linen.

Welcome pack of tea coffee and milk.

Rose Cottage is non smoking and we regret no pets.

Parking is outside on the street, however there are no restrictions in Paxton.
